Ingredients

  • 3 cup Rice
  • 1 cup Lentils
  • 4 pieces Chicken (breast and thigh)
  • 2 Onions
  • 3 tbsp Raisins
  • 2 tbsp Walnut optional
  • ¼ tbsp Cinnamon powder
  • Enough salt, black pepper, spices and turmeric

Instructions

  • Soak the rice for 30 minutes. Soak the raisins and barberries. Drain them. 
  • Chop one of the onions. Cook the chicken meat with 4 cups of water, spices, turmeric, and cinnamon for 30-40 minutes.
    Take the chickens out of the pot and sauté them.
  • Cook the lentils with 4 cups of water for 20 minutes and until they soften.
  • Add rice to the lentils. Add salt. After the rice turns Al dente, sieve it.
  • Place the chickens on top of the rice. Close the lid and let the rice steam for 40-50 minutes.
